Journey to the Heart
Katie just retuned from spending the last 10 days at Journey to the Heart. She, and 64 other young women, gathered in the Northwoods of Michigan for an intensive time of prayer, Scripture memorization, and a study of 18 heart conditions.
On Wednesday, I received a call from Katie that I will never forget. With tears, she began telling me how God was moving in her heart like never before. She was eager to recite Ephesians 2:1-5 as she had been working on her Scripture memory. Katie also responded to the Holy Spirit’s prompting to confess a few things that were on her heart and ask for my forgiveness.
On Monday, I was honored to be able to remotely participate in a prayer for Katie. I received a call from Mr. Gothard who had Katie, and 64 other young women, in his office. As several elders laid hands on Katie, I prayed that God would bless her with:
- A heart for the lost – that she would redeem the time that has been given her and devote the talents that God has given her, to develop a love for others that they may find salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.
- Faith that is unashamed and steadfast. Faith to stand alone when necessary and bear the light of Christ in a world of darkness.
- Assurance of His love for her. Assurance that is confirmed by the Holy Spirit that dwells within her to know that she is a dearly loved daughter of God and, as such, has been set apart to fulfill His divine calling for her.
As a father, there is no greater joy than to know that my children are walking in the light of God’s truth!
Below are excerpts from testimonies that were shared by some of the girls.
