Phoenix Zoo

After a period of heavy rains, the sun started peering its way through the clouds and we figured we better take the opportunity to get outdoors before it started to pour again. We decided to head to the Phoenix Zoo since it would provide great sights, good photo opportunities, and some fun and adventure.
Before heading to the zoo, we stopped to get brunch. We filled up on eggs, bacon, pancakes, burgers, fries, and chicken strips (quite a variety for one table). Katie made her own little hangout behind a menu and we all looked at the large wall mural of the united states and examined the points of interest from city to city.
After filling our bellies, we headed to the zoo. On the way, Lauren made movies in the backseat with her new children’s digital camera. Upon arriving at the zoo, we pulled out the big cameras and took a lot of photos of the animals and a few of each other. There were many animals to be wild about, but we particularly liked the cheetahs, the flamingos, the zebras, and the lions.
Overall, it was a good day to explore the zoo, get some fresh air and exercise. Perhaps we’ll go again when the weather is a bit warmer and we can spend more time hunting through exhibits that didn’t get our attention on this trip.

Mount Ord

_KRN7350-728535Our cousin Britt was visiting from Texas so we decided to take him to Mount Ord to see if we could find snow.  Katie invited a friend and although the snow was hard due to the temperature, we had a great time throwing snow balls and sliding down a hill.  In the end, I do believe that I was the big loser in the snow ball fight as I was unfairly out-numbered.
