{"id":172,"date":"2014-01-10T16:05:05","date_gmt":"2014-01-10T23:05:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nakatsus.com\/kerry\/?p=172"},"modified":"2014-01-31T15:19:24","modified_gmt":"2014-01-31T22:19:24","slug":"why-did-jesus-come-into-the-world","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nakatsus.com\/kerry\/why-did-jesus-come-into-the-world\/","title":{"rendered":"Why Did Jesus Come Into the World?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>January 10, 2014<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Why Did Jesus Come into the World?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>While reading the Gospel of John recently, it occurred to me that if someone asked me why Jesus came, I could easily answer in human words, but the Spirit prompted me to search the Scriptures so I would be able to answer them with God\u2019s Word.\u00a0 How would I answer, and what Scriptures would I share to give them a true and wise answer?<\/p>\n<p><b>Jesus came into the world to bring life and light.<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">John 20:31 says, \u201cThese things are written that you might believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that believing you might have life through His name.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0 The very reason that John wrote the Gospel of John was to present Christ as God\u2019s Son, and he wanted to present Him so that you and I might believe in Him, and that by believing we might have life.\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u201cI have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness\u201d (John 12:46).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Jesus came to the world to bring life and light.\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u201cIn Him was life, and the life was the light of Men\u201d (John 1:4).<\/span> \u00a0That\u2019s why Christ came, <i>to give life<\/i>.\u00a0 Fifty-four times in John\u2019s Gospel, he talks about life and twenty-one times he says Christ <i>is the life<\/i>.\u00a0 Jesus said, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u201cI\u2019m come that you might have life.\u201d\u00a0 \u201cI am the way, the truth, and the life.\u201d\u00a0 \u201cHe that hath the Son has life.\u201d\u00a0 \u201cAnd the life was the light of men.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The harrowing reality however is <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u201c\u2026that Light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil\u201d (John 3:19).<\/span> \u00a0Jesus came to be a light to show the way to life, and people have preferred darkness because they have not wanted to see their sinful state.\u00a0 Christ is the life and the light of God. \u00a0He is the source of our physical and spiritual life.\u00a0 In Him is life.\u00a0 May we not turn away from that blessed light and life, but instead, may all men turn away from darkness and death to the present abundant life and future glorious eternal life that Jesus came to give.<\/p>\n<p><b>Jesus came into the world to seek and save the lost. <\/b>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u201cFor the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost\u201d (Luke 19:10). \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Jesus came into the world to save sinners.\u00a0 <\/b><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u201cThis is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief\u201d (1 Timothy 1:15)\u00a0 \u201cNeither is there salvation in any other: \u00a0for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Jesus Christ came into the world to call sinners to repentance.\u00a0 <\/b><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">&#8220;When Jesus heard it, He said to them, \u2018Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. \u00a0I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance\u2019\u201d (Mark 2:17).<b style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Jesus came into the world to demonstrate the true purpose of life and give Himself as a ransom.\u00a0 <\/b><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">&#8220;Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many\u201d (Matthew 20:28).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Jesus Christ came into the world to be a King and bear witness to the truth.\u00a0 <\/b><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u201cPilate therefore said to Him, \u201cAre You a king then?\u201d\u00a0 Jesus answered, \u201cYou say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. \u00a0Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice\u201d (John 18:27).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Jesus came into the world to do the will of His father.<\/b>\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u201cFor I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me\u201d (John 6:38).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Jesus Christ came into the world that men might have the Abundant Life.\u00a0 <\/b><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u201cThe thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly\u201d (John 10:10).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Jesus came into the world to redeem us from sin and to purify us for Himself. <\/b>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u201cFor the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, <i>who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works<\/i>\u201d (Titus 2:11)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Jesus came into the world to judge the world.<\/b>\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u201cAnd Jesus said, \u2018For judgment I have come into this world, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may be made blind\u201d (John 9:39).\u00a0 \u201cHis winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather the wheat into His barn; but the chaff He will burn with unquenchable fire\u201d (Luke 3:17).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Jesus Christ came into the world to proclaim or preach the Good News about the Kingdom of God.\u00a0 <\/b><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em; color: #ff0000;\">\u201cBut He said to them, \u2018Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because for this purpose I have come forth\u2019\u201d (Mark 1:38).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Jesus came into the world to die on the cross.<\/b>\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u201cNow My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? \u2018Father, save Me from this hour\u2019? But for this purpose I came to this hour\u2019\u201d (John 12:27).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Jesus Christ came into the world to fulfill the law. <\/b><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">\u2028<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u201cDo not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill\u201d (Matthew 5:17).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b><b style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Jesus Christ came into the world to be a Divider of men. <\/b><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em; color: #ff0000;\">\u2028\u201cDo not think that I came to bring peace on earth.\u00a0 I did not come to bring peace but a sword. \u00a0For I have come to \u2018set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law\u2019\u201d (Matthew 10:34-35).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b><b style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Jesus Christ came into the world as a demonstration of God&#8217;s Love. <\/b><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">\u2028<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u201cIn this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins\u201d (1 John 4:10).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Jesus Christ came into the world because the Father sent Him. <\/b>\u2028<\/span>\u201dSo Jesus said to them again, \u201cPeace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you\u201d (John 20:21).<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>The Father SENT Jesus to be the Propitiation (atonement) for our sins.\u00a0 <\/b><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u201cIn this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins\u201d (1 John 4:10).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><b>The Father SENT Jesus and gave Jesus as the Saviour of the world.\u00a0 <\/b><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u201cFor God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.\u00a0 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.\u00a0 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God\u201d (John 3:16-18).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><b>The Father SENT Jesus to bless us by turning us from our iniquities.\u00a0 <\/b><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u201cTo you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities\u201d (Acts 3:26).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><b>The Father SENT His Son to redeem us from the curse of the law.\u00a0 <\/b><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u201cBut when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons\u201d (Galatians 4:4-5).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><b>God SENT His Son to make possible a new power in the hearts of men, a power to enable him to fulfill the righteousness of the law.\u00a0 <\/b><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u201cFor what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: \u00a0He condemned sin in the flesh,\u00a0that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit\u201d (Romans 8:3-4).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>January 10, 2014 Why Did Jesus Come into the World?
