Oklahoma!!

Ahhhh! What a joy it is to have friends from all over the country who share your beliefs and know how to make you laugh! Some of our best friends are Laura and LiliAnna Beasley who live in Oklahoma. With Dad being a pilot and a free weekend on the calendar, we packed our bags and flew to OK last weekend for a long overdue “family reunion”!

The Crazy Bunch

Our stay was short, but enriching all the while.  Our memories included: The Chad and Trevor Championship (who won?!), reenacting scenes from Courageous late into the night, “y’all” vs. “you guys”,  nail painting where Laura ended up with one toe painted and all the rest plain :), the aforementioned Bible Pictionary escapades, DELICIOUS cooking by Mrs. Beasley, and so much more!

We love “all y’all guys” so much and hope to see you next month!

Hawaii 2015!

We recently returned from a week on the Big Island of Hawaii.  What a treat it was to experience the island lifestyle, witness beautiful sunsets, and drink some awesome guava juice!

Through my dad’s company, we were able to enjoy a mostly-paid-for trip to the Big Island. None of us had ever been to this island (and 3 of us had never been to any Hawaiian island), so this made for a unique experience that we won’t soon forget!

The whole island had such beautiful and unique vegetation, but we thoroughly enjoyed the scenery of the Akaka Falls rainforest:

One night, we attended a Hawaiian luau.  That was a treat!  Before the show began, we witnessed the uncovering of a pua’a (pig) which had been buried in a fiery sand pit that morning and had been cooking there all day.

Ahhh what a wonderful trip we had! On the other hand it’s great to be back home where burgers don’t cost $18!!

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.”

Oklahoma Part 2: Fun with the Beasleys!

So after making a bajillion gallons of ice cream, what better way to unwind than to visit with wonderful friends!  We drove about 1.5 hrs to visit the Beasley family and spend a couple days with them before heading home.  Words cannot describe what a magnificent time we had with the Beasleys!  Check out the pictures of our adventures together!

Thank you Beasley family for allowing us to stay with you, and make so many memories!  Let’s do it again soon!

Oklahoma Part 1: Peach Festival!

Hey y’all!  We just returned from Oklahoma where we spent a week making ice cream and memories.  This post is all about our time at the Peach Festival in Stratford, OK.  Once a year, folks come from far away to taste the delicious homemade peach ice cream made by the Burnett family.  Well this year we shook things up a bit and took the John Deere ice cream makin’ machines to OK to assist our dear friends as they made 75 gallons of ice cream!  Man was it fun! For more pictures visit the B’s site.

“How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
Nor stand in the path of sinners,
Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!
But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water,
Which yields its fruit in its season
And its leaf does not wither;
And in whatever he does, he prospers.”

~ Psalm 1:1-3

Trip to Greer

For those of you who live in AZ (or other hot locations), you understand the necessity to escape the heat every so often.  And that’s just what we did.  Last week we packed up and drove to Greer, AZ (about 4 hrs east of us) for a few days.  Let me tell you, the weather was superb.  We’re talking 70-80 degrees with some rain here and there.  We stayed in a nice little cabin by a creek, and enjoyed fishing in Big Lake and riding a ski lift (snow not included).  Enjoy a few of the captured memories:

Fall Break in CA

so in az we start school in early august and take a week break in october. i didn’t realize not many states have a fall break but i guess it makes sense considering they usually start school in september. anyway, even though we homeschool, we often follow the local public school’s breaks and took last week off of school! we decided to head to cali with my cousin for a few days of fun! we had a blast between knot’s berry farm, the beach, and random fun things along the way…
