Fred Jordan Missions

fred jordan missions: “caring for the needy in Jesus’ name since 1944”.

Antonio Villaraigosa

with thanksgiving this month (where has the time gone?!!), i wanted to find a ministry that aided in feeding the hungry during this time of giving thanks. so, for november’s prayer post, the subject of prayer is ‘fred jordan missions’, a ministry based in california that reaches out to the homeless (skid row) helping them financially¬†and¬†spiritually. fred jordan missions helps the poor 365 days a year but they put together an extra special thanksgiving feast for the less fortunate as well. the ‘street mission banquet’ is an annual festivity on skid row where thousands of hungry men, women, and children gather for a traditional turkey dinner provided by fred jordan missions. these holidays are such a vital time to reach out to others and share Christ’s love but i was/am encouraged to learn that this particular ministry serves the less fortunate year-round by providing food, clothing, and blankets- all in Christ’s name. fred jordan missions has a myriad of organizations and banquets throughout the year to honor and serve the homeless. to learn more about fred jordan missions and to read their story, click here.

join me in prayer this month for fred jordan missions as they reach out to the impoverished and share Jesus with them. it’s often the ones who are desperate and poverty-stricken that respond best to the gospel.

“He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for what he has done.”

~ Proverbs 19:17
