DIY Gift Wrapping

there are so many unique ways to wrap a gift. by using creativity and resourcefulness, you never know what you might fabricate. i had a few candles to wrap and resolved to package them in something other than your typical gift bag, thus constructing the following homemade “gift-holders”.

i made three gift-holders and must say each one is distinctive and original.

the first, and simplest, package was made out of a brown paper bag.

after placing the gift inside, i folded the top on both sides kinda like an arrow.

next, fold the flap down and punch two holes.

weave a ribbon through the holes and tie a bow. the rest is up to you as far as decorating.

be creative :)

option no. 2 is also very straightforward.

take two sheets of tissue paper (use different patterns for a fun look!) and lay them across each other.

to add pizzazz, fold the sheets accordion-style and trim the edges in a pattern.

i did chevron.

then place the gift in the center of the sheets and wrap them over it.

tie a ribbon around to secure in place. and if you desire, place flowers in the center.

the last package was made from a square tissue box.

i cut out pieces of scrapbook paper ( 4.5″ X 5″) to place all over each side and the bottom.

after gluing those on, i cut up some jumbo popsicle sticks to make a lid.

i cut the top of the box out except for the side edges and hot glued the sticks on top.

make sure to leave one side un-cut for the lid to open/close.

optional: add decor such as buttons.

stuff the inside with tissue paper and the gift!

i know i would appreciate a gift much more if i saw how much effort was devoted into it.

“Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift!”
